Baby Wienke 10 Weeks 4 Days

We had an ultrasound yesterday and everything is looking great. The baby is 1.45 inches and has a heartbeat of 170bpm. It was pretty wild seeing this tiny human in there, so small, but full of life already. It is definitely more real now! The ultrasound tech said that I was 10 weeks and 4 days yesterday and gave a due date of March 22, 2008. The doc still wants to go with March 26 though because my periods were irregular prior to getting pregnant. I am feeling better these days, starting to get some energy back. I've gained 1 lb., although I feel like I've gained 10! I have totally been craving comfort foods like mashed potatoes, pot roast, chili, stew, oh, and Chop Suey. I know, odd. So, as you can imagine, I am looking forward to Fall and Winter! Thanksgiving has been on my mind for weeks!!!! It's strange because when I cook something that sounds good, something I've been craving, I make it and then afterward I cannot eat it. I am not hungry anymore or something. I did this with my mom's beef stroganoff the other weekend. I had been craving it for days and after I made it, I ate about two bites and put the rest in the fridge. Poor Brett has to make dinner all the time. I am lucky to have such an understanding husband!

Brett's Project

If you know Brett then you know about his bike build. The frame is an Adam Chandler original. He just got the gas tank, rear fender and oil tank from the painter, who happens to be a very good friend of the Wienke family, Bill Lynch. Bill owned his own chop shop in the 70's, and as you can see, he definitely has not lost his touch. He has helped Brett throughout the build and we are in great debt to him.

Feeling It

Thought I would post since I have some time. I have been feeling more and more typical pregnancy symptoms lately. Though, I figured out that if I eat small, more frequent meals/snacks during the day, my nausea isn't as bad. Wednesday, was the first time my nausea did actually get the best of me. I was brushing my teeth -which always makes me gag to begin with even when I wasn't pregnant - and the water I had drunk earlier came up on my toothbrush. Needless to say I had to get a new toothbrush. Good thing my brother is a dentist! I know you all probably are not the least bit interested in my other, not so attractive, "issues", but I FINALLY went numero dos today!!!!!!!! I was getting a tad nervous about it, as it had been a while, so I started on my Citrucel fiber pills again and I guess that did the trick! Thank the lord for those precious pills. I took Tylenol for the first time the other day because my headache was bad and just would not go away. I felt a little guilty but I did some research and found that just plain tylenol [below 650 mg] is okay to take. Boy am I glad it's Friday. These weeks just seem to get longer and longer for me. I can only hope it gets better.
Brett is home from his business trip and I am whole again.
